Black and Brown dermatologists have been highlighting the disparities in dermatology education for decades, but general textbooks/journals and lectures are still lacking diversity. You can't be a "general" dermatologist if you don't know how to treat all skin types. #dermtwitter https://twitter.com/LashNolen/status/1275904145229144064
@AdeAdamson wrote an excellent thread on the efforts in Dermatology to promote skin of color teaching materials. However, we need EVERY dermatology program and textbook and @AADmember session to have representation across different skin types. https://twitter.com/AdeAdamson/status/1275937733320552450?s=20
It's actually on all of us to bring about this change -- we need to listen, recognize, and integrate the work of those who came before us into dermatology educational materials.
