I do find ethnocentric when people (read westerners [read further: mostly Americans) have an expectation for people of other countries and cultures to know the ins and outs of their (their meaning western[read further: mostly American) history and culture
Inspired by this, twitter culture is just a symptom of the overarching problem of western ethnocentrism to the point westerns don’t even realize how they colonize conversations with their own world view without taking anyone else’s context into account

If you enter a conversation with “how could you/he/she/they not know this?” Or “you/she/he/they really don’t know this?” Let me ask: do you know their history? Do you know their stories? Do you know their culture? Do you know what has hurt or healed them? If you dont. Learn it.
Be a student before you are a teacher.
Also I’m an American. So :) I’m calling out my own culture here
