So, I'm listening to Joe Rogan's podcast with Brett Weinstein and I had a footnote to add on one of his explanations on Systemic racism.

I have a complicated relationship with this term....

Brett does very good by at least saying he thinks that opportunity should be equitable.
Now, that being said.... I acknowledge that systemically, Black people have had historic disenfranchisement with Segregation & then destruction of the black Nuclear family following reintegration.

That destroys a lot of opportunity for generational wealth.
Opportunity moved OUT of black communities and into integrated spaces/white spaces.

This leaves black people who never venture out of what margins have been drawn up and assigned as "Black Culture" at an opportunity disadvantage. (It is human nature to remain in our ingroups).
Because of a dearth of opportunity within the black community, that means that if you're not one of the exceptional minorities of the black community (admittedly I fall into this category) you will have VERY LIMITED OPPORTUNITY.

OK.

Concession over. Now for the critique.
First off, his ideal of there being some way to design a system or reallocate opportunity to the Black community is misguided.

Opportunity can not be synthetically created or it will be squandered or ignored.

It HAS to be organically grown.
There is no great way to equalize the disparity in the Black community via governmental access beyond what vocational incentives are already available.

We have to build our OWN FAMILIES AND REBUILD OUR OWN WEALTH.

There isn't a disparity in STEM for blacks because of a wall.
The disparity in STEM by black people is because of CHOICE. That choice can be argued as a product of a systemic implant into black culture, but even then, that's because of CORPORATIONS.

That is a conglomerate of people of different races. Not just white men in pinstripe suits
So, don't try to create a system that you think will level the playing field because there is not one. The system has hobbled black people to an inordinate degree.

Let's leave critical theory theologians behind and focus on doing the hard work.
