Awesome to see the integration of @quant_network and SIA progress! Going to do a brief thread as a reminder of the size and scope of what SIA are doing. These guys are the leading Financial Service Infrastructure in Europe - and expanding Globally. https://www.sia.eu/en/media-events/news-press-releases/quant-network-and-sia-successfully-tested-blockchain-interoperability $QNT
SIA runs a private network infrastructure with 580 nodes. Rather than the public internet, this uses a 208,000 kilometer fiber optic network. SIA leveraged the 580 nodes of SIAnet to create the SIAChain blockchain infrastructure with which Overledger has been integrated. $QNT
In 2018, SIA managed 14 billion institutional services transactions, 7.2 billion card transactions, 3 billion payments, 51.7 billion financial transactions and carried 1,204 terabytes of data on the network. $QNT
SIA serves 20+ Central Banks - mainly through their RTGS offering. $QNT
Where does Overledger fit in? The integration is taking place on the infrastructure level of SIAChain. "The breakthrough was achieved by integrating Quant Network’s Overledger technology (the world’s only DLT operating system that allows interoperability) into the SIAchain" $QNT
“The achievement of a fully interoperable blockchain network, through our collaboration with Quant Network, is another key-element in our path of bringing innovation and state-of-the-art technologies for supporting banks...
"...financial institutions, corporates and public administration bodies to extend their capabilities in integrating different DLT business applications” said Daniele Savarè, Innovation & Business Solutions Director SIA. $QNT
