Berry: I would love to learn more, please send us your notes and further research material

Fanis Juma-Radstake: remember, there are actual *demands* attached to this letter. We want action if we're going to keep educating you.
For those not following the livestream: I am colourfully paraphrasing in this thread. These are not direct quotes
Gita Schuster-Ashley! Really bringing out the resignation demand for Mayor Armstrong. Smartly bringing it back to the whole structure of privilege and power that council is steeped in.
Armstrong now reads a very wordsmithed apology letter.
Now @tomjgalloway14 asks Armstrong, ok, so what exactly are you gonna do to educate yourself and learn?
Armstrong: uh.... I'll ask staff
Galloway: you better do more than that or I'll file a code of conduct complaint, bro

Now @EClarkeYW, visibly emotional, wants to know what are the legal avenues for defunding the police.
Staff clarify that Council can approve a reduced total budget number when presented with a Police Budget, but they can't make decisions about individual line items.
On to the rapid reallocation of road space. We have a cambridge resident speaking to the safety benefits of connecting Galt and Preston with protected bike routes. Full throated support.
Staff say that public engagement over the last week has shown two-thirds support from the public for the proposal.
Now David Trueman, representing @Cycle_WR, addresses the concern that this will cost too much. It's only 0.3% of the capital budget. Deferring repaving for one section of roadway would pay for this.
Now @berryonline serves up a softball question to David about how this Regional network could help link lower-tier city infrastructure.
Here is the link to the traffic data that @DavidTrueman was talking about – rush hour congestion has diappeared and it's not coming back anytime soon. #watreg #kwawesome https://www.tomtom.com/en_gb/traffic-index/kitchener-waterloo-traffic/
Leslie Maxwell now delegating about how this proposal could really help safety of schools walking/biking to and from schools.
Noting that when schools reopen in the fall, there will need to be fewer students per seat on the buses. This helps with social distancing too.
Next up is @mattjrodrigues!

Matt is sporting a tight fade, really cleaned up well for this presentation. mustache game on point.
Matt skillfully judo-flips Councillor Lorentz' concern about the temporary nature of this plan, highlighting that we should really be asking how to make it permanent.
Next up is @DorothyMcCabe! Brings it back to the 2018 vote to declare a climate emergency. She lets out an audible sigh after highlighting this fact.
"If you still believe there's a climate crisis ... this is the decisionmaking opportunity for you" Very classy presentation, @DorothyMcCabe

Now @tomjgalloway14 hints at plans afoot to continue some of these bike lanes throughout the winter...
