Decided to continue the Schumacher Batman train with Batman & Robin. Again, I have the BluRay, so I have commentary turned on. Schumacher is such a class act. He makes sure to name, credit, and praise everyone who worked on the film. Not a single bad thing said for anyone.
He seems to show genuine pleasure in revisiting both films. He's not shy about acknowledging how people feel about them, but it's impossible not to appreciate his passion for film and those he worked with.
*during the part where Uma Thurman unveils herself by stripping off a gorilla suit*

"I think I'll let you enjoy Uma for awhile. I'll have a sip of coffee."

Also, during Batman Forever's commentary, he suddenly calls Robin an "ungrateful twerp" and I fucking lost it.
*On Mr Freeze's tank*

"I wanted this toy to move faster, but...that's the best we could do. Oh well."

I love how he refers to everything as a toy, because it really was supposed to be. This movie was especially pushed to be a toy and collecting commercial.
You know what, say what you will about Batman & Robin, but Uma Thurman is amazing as Poison Ivy and her costume is AMAZING. Like, it's nearly a perfect adaptation from the comics.
Sure, she was ridiculously hammy and there wasn't a single inch of scenery that she didn't chewed, but goddamn she's fun in this.
Huh. According to A Schumacher, they didn't INTENTIONALLY make the movie like a modern Adam West style. It's that Jim Carey added so much comedy to Forever and it was popular, Joel and screenwriter Akiva Goldman leaned more into the jokes.
Schumacher sees where the comparisons come from, though, and he understands it. So this was definitely silly, campy, and funny on purpose. Which fans that want dark, brooding Batman haaaaaated.

Fuck 'em. I unironically love this movie.
