So since tomorrow will involve ill-informed "debate" about the school summer holidays in Scotland, allow me to just pre-emptively contextualise them with the rest of Europe
The attempt to cut school summer holidays is generally a product of centre-right political views. It's got little if anything to do with education, and almost invariably has nothing whatsoever to do with the wellbeing of children.
For various reasons Finland and Estonia are regarded as two of the best education systems in Europe. Both - like most of Europe - have longer summer holidays than Scotland.
But of course
And another pre-emptive point, this time for all the people who'll be whining tomorrow:
If you think teaching is such an easy gig then you are welcome to go through the process to become a teacher.
If you think you're up to it, that is.
If you think teaching is such an easy gig then you are welcome to go through the process to become a teacher.
If you think you're up to it, that is.
(Spoiler: you're almost certainly not up to it)
