Allowing, through hostage taking, the Chinese Govt to force our Govt to override a independent judicial decision is - to me -much more dangerous to the integrity of our judicial system than asking JWR to consider sending a directive, as was within her power, to the DPP. Wake up.

And I’ll tell you right now, if the govt interfered here and sent Meng back, thereby making a mockery of our independent judiciary, and the Chinese didn’t send the Michaels home every #cdnpoli opposition member would demonize the LPC for ever trusting the Chinese Govt.

Oh but there is Vassy giving airtime to this nonsense and that garbage rag the G&M who has such *quality* people as that nasty hack Bob Fife and plagiarizing Maggie Wente giving airtime to this crap when they didn’t know their ass from their elbow on SNC.
We have a stellar foreign service, a rock solid judiciary and a strong LPC Govt. How about we let them do their GD jobs instead of trying to just appease a regime of despots that murder their own people and have no semblance of free justice.
Peace. Order. Good Government. That’s what this country was built on. I’ll be damned if any Govt of any #cdnpoli stripe should throw those away to get China’s cooperation. No Canadian should want that be they a journalist, a politician or ex-pols with an opinion and a pen.
I’m so damn tired of simple solutions from the same old actors to complex geopolitical issues that cut to the core of who we are as a nation. #Cdnmedia and #cdnpoli would do well to consider that instead of trying to undercut our democratic institutions./x
Actually let me add another point: Allan Rock, Sergio Marchi, Ed Broadbent, Lawrence Cannon and other signatories to that letter have been out of #cdnpoli for some time. They have no access to facts or the situation on the ground.
