I did a plot about Average Award from @EPSRC for men and Women.

Let's now talk (below) about total POWER of representation. Shall we?
Now, if you take the value of average award (£) and multiply by the number of awardees (men/women), that gives you the total amount of money given to men or women every year.
Now, I am really tempted to say 'go cry me a river' @EPSRC because that leaky pipeline for women is not going to get fixed any time soon. Why?
Because representation matters and let me tell you, @EPSRC, you have awarded to our men colleagues, the whopping and handsome and astronomical amount of

**** almost £2.2 BILLION ****
Whilst women have got

**** £260M *****
****Representation matters****

And if we want to fix the 'leaky pipeline' in STEM, @EPSRC, then the FEW women there are, who are writing DOUBLE the grants to win only HALF the money and doing a lot of the EDI work are tired. VERY tired.
It is essential for other women to be visible and be there, to create environments that welcome women. To have the TIME to be mentors and friends and good lecturers and good supervisors. And obviously, a lot of the EDI work, thank you. But we are working a lot. For much less.
So, I would think that this 'leaky pipeline' problem won't get fixed any time soon. Not with these numbers. The imbalance of power is there to see.
This is obviously true for other minoritised groups as well. I invite @tanvir_h to calculate the power of representation for BAME. One day, maybe we'll be able to see the actual power of representation when taking intersectionality into account.
