For 30 days since George Floyd’s murder, Wisconsinites have risen up against police violence & systemic racism. The uprising is vital, and overdue. Meanwhile, some actions last night were simply unacceptable—above all, the assault on Sen. Carpenter. We wish him a speedy recovery.
The Democratic Party of Wisconsin joins elected Democratic leaders throughout our state in recommitting to the fight against systemic racism. Those opposed to change are eager to change the subject. Don’t let them. Accountability cannot wait.
