I think some of you who are new to the game may have some analysis paralysis.
Maybe you think you leap right into some $1k Kit.
Maybe some of you are afraid to just buy what you can afford because someone will clown on you.

Then, consider whatever scenario you’re most likely to find yourself in and build your kit around that.

Bottom line is this: “better to have and not need, than need and not have.”
You don’t need a high dollar set up.
If don’t have anything, get something, for now.
Think basic: PC, war belt, chest rig.

If there’s 2 things you should NOT skimp on though—
1) do not cut corners on a holster
(Get as durable as you can afford, with the best retention)
2) do no cut corners on plates
(Avoid plates known for producing spawl on hits, if you have these, at least get a spawl sleeve)
