1x02: Already sharing insecurities, intimate details, veiled flirting. Endgame energy.

1x03: He barely knows her, but Lucas sends Peyton's designs to Thud magazine, knowing its hard for Peyton to put herself out there. 3 episodes in and the soulmate connection is obvious.
1x04: Only they can flirt like this. They just get each other.
1x05: Peyton is damn near suicidal running red lights, and this man Lucas jumps into the car just to be with her. I'm dead serious, why would you think he'd end up with anyone else? He goes out of his way for her constantly.
1x06: Flirting and bonding over music. A Leyton staple.
1x07: Ships like Leyton don't happen easily. It takes time and patience. Lucas knew what he wanted, Peyton wanted him too, but didn't know how far to go with it. And ~that's~ where the tension starts.
1x08: No OTH ship had as much tension and angst as these two. Makes the eventual payoff so satisfying.
1x09: Peyton is regretting not saying how she really felt. She was scared. She finally opens her heart to Lucas, but her best friend didn't seem to care how she feels 
Let's just recap what Brooke does.
1x10: Lucas clearly knows he jumped the gun and made a bad choice with Brooke. But Peyton suppressed her feelings for him. This ship was a victim of terrible timing and circumstance
Big reason why Brucas is hot garbage: Lucas only gets with Brooke when Peyton isn't available to him. He thought her walking away in 1x07 was rejecting a relationship, so (like a hoe tbh) he just tries to rebound with Brooke.

1x11: Brooke has a hard time connecting with Lucas, so she asks Peyton for help (Brooke has always subconsciously known). Peyton gives her songs for him to listen to.

In between all this, you have Brooke lying to Lucas about a pregnancy while telling him she felt inferior to him in their relationship. So romantic

Season 2 is Leyton's worst season. After their incredible Season 1, they barely interact. Instead they force Brucas because Chad and Sophia are dating, and they force Jeyton to get Peyton out of the way. Two snoozefest ships.
Brucas is extremely forced especially with how bad they were in S1
Peyton is a wannabe 16 yo stepmom w/no ambition with Jake and becomes the worst version of her character, looking to Jake to fill the void of a family.

Jake being a nice guy =/= Jeyton is a good ship. No development, all they do is talk about Jenny, and only appear in like 8 episodes together.
People who like Jeyton have Brucas as their #1 ship, it's only bc they want Peyton out the way for their snoozefest ship.

A common theme with Brucas that needs to be highlighted. Peyton is ALWAYS an underlying issue for both of them.

Lucas was still hurt that Peyton said he wasn't a good friend. He values her opinion of him more than anyone else's.
Also just a sidenote: Jeyton doesn't even happen in S2 if Lucas doesn't call him. Lucas' love for Peyton is the reason Jeyton stans even exist
And we are about to be redeemed for the distance between Leyton now.

Let me address the lie that Brucas fans have spread over the years -- that Chad cheating on Sophia is the only reason Leyton was endgame.

Season 3 is a Leyton season, not a Brucas one. Even though Brucas are dating. Leyton is being built up from 3x01 itself and this season shows why Brucas are terrible for each other and Leyton were always endgame. Leyton did not come out of nowhere, it was inevitable and obvious.

Ending thread here, y'all know how great 4, 5 (yes), and 6 are to Leyton. But Leyton was clearly meant to be from the start.
