eminem has been doing a lot of charity through the years. we actually don't hear a great deal about some of the lovely things that eminem does for other people, because he prefers to keep it secret. we stan a humble king.

he channels most of his charitable works through the Marshall Mathers Foundation and pumps a large chunk of his own money into the various works of that foundation. it seems as if he wants to give today's kids the sort of opportunities that he was denied when he was a kid.

he donates large amounts of money and supports many projects for the kids of the Michigan and Detroit metro area. that involves supporting athletic support, getting kids ready for college, and helping kids who are in crisis.

the Marshall Mathers Foundation also helps outside the educational community. it provides funds for shelters, AIDS charities, food banks, and all sorts of other good causes around the area that he came from.

here’s the public records of some projects the foundation is involved into. as i said, he prefers to keep his good work as a secret, so we may not find everything in the public records.
plus, between 2011-2013, eminem contributed $270,000 of the $563,970 in total contributions.

he also started Eight Mile Boulevard Association and Nine Million. these are also charities that benefit the residents of Detroit. it is estimated that in total, he has donated over $180 million (in 2017).

eminem also backed a Wolverine Human Services crowdfunding campaign held on Giving Tuesday in 2013, raising about $120,000, including a matching grant from the Marshall Mathers Foundation.

during the quarantine, eminem also helped the detroit medical center by giving them meals. the hospital also received a donation, funded by eminem and his foundation. eminem often does this kind of things!

in may 2017, eminem has lent his support to the ongoing charity appeal for victims of last week's terrorist attack in Manchester, helping raise almost $3 million.

in 2011, he appeared in a Super Bowl commercial for Chrysler. the commercial slogan became a powerful marketing campaign, and eminem didn't want to miss out on an opportunity to do some charity work. ++

he and Chrysler created a t-shirt with the slogan, and donated a portion of all the proceeds to a variety of Detroit charities that primarily focus on youth outreach.

he uses his success to help others succeed as they rejoin society after having paid their debts. in 2004, the Marshall Mathers Foundation gave $50,000 to the Fresh Start program at Rikers Island prison. the money was used to pay for vocational training and job placement services.

while amping up for his Monster Tour with rihanna in 2014, he decided to use his powers for good once more and turned to his fans for help. through eBay, he auctioned off five Casio G-Shock watches, tickets to his shows, and an autographed hat. the proceeds benefited Focus: HOPE

when the boxing movie Southpaw was released in 2015, eminem used the success of the movie and his song on the soundtrack to create a philanthropic opportunity. he and Shady Records partnered with the Marshall Mathers Foundation and Title Boxing to create custom Southpaw merch.

he supported the Literacy through Songwriting program. in November 2015, eminem partnered with Carhartt to create Slim Shady's Js in a fundraising event.
just 10 pairs of the sleek Air Jordan IV shoes were put up for auction, netting the charity $227,552.

also, he was often accused of being homophobic, when he’s clearly not. in fact, elton john, openly sided in eminem’s defense, dueting with him in the iconic performance at the 2001 Grammy Awards in the song "Stan". here’s the performance.

elton, who immediately understood the total absence of homophobia in Eminem's mind, wanted to convey this impression to the rest of the world, and he performed together with the rapper, then he became his close friend (elton is marshall’s sponsor, who is 12 years sober).

you should check some songs where who “talks” is actually marshall. you come at him for lyrics made up by him as SLIM SHADY, an alter-ego. those lyrics are FICTIONAL, like a book, and you don’t hate a writer if a book character does bad things. marshall is not slim shady.
