Have been trying to set up a @gofundme page for weeks to raise money for a Syrian refugee who has been accepted at Columbia University. Cant get a human from @gofundme to talk to me about how to get the page going, despite realms of documentation I have supplied them with.

Anyone have any ideas? Has anyone experienced this with @gofundme ? I understand US sanctions against Syria are the concern but this money will never leave the US and I need to start fundraising before he misses the deadline to accept his place at Columbia.

He’s a freelance journalist who regularly contributes to the New Yorker and Guardian and Telegraph and they are able to pay him without issue, so how is this so difficult?!
