ME THINKING ABOUT THIS TWEET- A RATCHET ASS THREAD; https://twitter.com/svnshinehaz/status/1275594406406443009
so my theory implies that harry is either a horrible person or the best person ever it depends on how you look at it akhdjsjs
BASICALLY i think its about falling in love with the fame, fortune and glamour of being a celebrity and saying anything and evereything is worth enduring for that celebrity status
now why they fell in love with the fame can either be because of the money or because of the fan interactions and experiences theyve had which is why i said it depends on how you look at it
ok so imma breakdown some of the lyrics and explain why i think its about falling in love with fame
"Who's this shadow holding me hostage, I've been here for days"
This feeling of never being able to get a break and being constantly overworked. Remember at this point, they've been a band for four years and they've already churned out their fourth album.

"Who's this whisper telling me I'm never gonna get away"
This is just plain and simple manipulation, most likely from their management.

"I know they'll be coming to find me soon, but I feel I'm getting used to being held by you"
This reads to me as "Even if I could get out of it now do I want to?"

"Baby, look what you've done to me, I'll never leave if you keep holding me this way, You've got me tied down"
These lyrics show us that Harry (the writer) gets something out of being famous, even if he doesn't necessarily like the process of how he did become famous.

"Used to sing about being free, but now he's changed his mind"
At the beginning, he disliked the rigid, harsh schedules they were on but now that he sees the product of his efforts he decides its ok.

"Yeah, I fell for you"
This makes me think about falling for money and power, like politicians. They put aside their values for the sake of what they've fallen for, in this case, fame.

"All my life I've been on my own, I used a light to guide me home, But now together we're alone, There's no other place I'd ever wanna go"
ok i have two thoughts that make sense for this, im gonna put both in because yes
ok i have two thoughts that make sense for this, im gonna put both in because yes
THE ONE THAT MAKES MORE SENSE: "I used to have morals for what can and can't be done to a person, but now that I've experienced the other side of those morals and its brought me here, to this place where I am happy and content, I'm not so sure how to feel about them."
THE CRACKHEAD ONE: (look yall know im a larrie soooooo) "I used your light to guide me to you and now we're together, even if I can't show the world, I'm ok because I still have you"
