This is THE definition of equity fail:
The alleged reasoning and outcry from the advocates & urbanists, was "People are at risk! We need space to preserve #socialdistancing." & "Humans needs outdoors for mental well-being. Give us more space!"
& then..

And then the primarily white, primarily upper class urbanists who have the most access to travel and treatment if they did get sick got their open streets.

And when I asked the team of pro planners et al on the call w me what was the justification for founding a program to assist alleviate threats to public health but leave the extension of those benefits to the most impacted til the 5th wave of the project. There. Was. Silence.

I cant unpack it all right here but to those whove been following esp seeking guidance re: #blacklivesmatter
THIS - the one-sided advocacy, the leveraging POC disparity but giving actual #POC no or low priority is exactly the fight to carry the work fwd evday.
