BREAKING Documents suggest Jenrick wanted to approve the Westferry scheme on Jan 14th to save Desmond from paying more money to the Council.
An official writes;

“On timing, my understanding is that SoS is/was insistent that decision issued this week ie tomorrow - as next week the viability of the scheme is impacted by a change in the London CIL regime.”
Robert Jenrick says

"the Planning Inspector’s Report also noted that if the decision
was taken after the adoption of the new local plan and CIL schedule, the viability of the scheme might be compromised,"
Jenrick argues that the planning application had been in for so long that the Infrastructure Levy would not have even been an issue had Tower Hamlets not been dragging their feet.
