A thread on how the Indian Air Defence System would look like in the next few years:-

1) QRSAM:
Max range: 30km
Interception altitude: 10km

Uses a 360° AESA radar.
Has a two way data link and a active seeker.
360° AESA radar coverage.
Can search and track on the move.
2) Akash SAM system:

1) Akash Mk1/1S:
max range: 30km
interception altitude: 18km

2) Akash Mk2:
max range: 35km
interception altitude: 20km

3) Akash NG:
max range: 50km
interoception altitude: 20km

Akash battery comprises of a Rajendra 3D PESA radar.
NG will have AESA radar
3) MRSAM:

Land based system of Barak 8 missile.
Consists of a 2 way datalink and an active RF seeker.
Operational range: 70km
Flight ceiling: 16km
4) XRSAM:
Stands for Extra Long Range Surface to Air Missile system.
Will have a range of 350km against slow moving targets like AWACS, tankers and 250km for fast moving targets.
5) S-400 missile system:
5 regiments on order.
Provides a layered air defence network with missiles having ranges 40km, 120km, 250km, 400km at interception altitudes 20km, 30km, 60km, 30km respectively.
6) Phase 1 of IBMDP:

1] Prithvi Air Defence:
Can intercept targets at altitude of 80km.
Capable of engaging missiles in 300-2000km range class.
Fast enough to intercept MRBM and IRBM.
2] Advanced Air Defence:
Intercepts incoming ballastic missiles at an altitude of 30km.
On 28th Dec 2017, AAD successfully intercepeted a incoming Prithvi-2 missile.
3] Prithvi Defence Vehicle:
Provides protection against missiles of the 5000km range class.
Designed to intercept incoming ballastic missiles at altitude greater than 150km.
Completes Phase 1 of BMD program.
Prithvi Defence Vehicle Mk2:
Also known as Project Shakti or India's anti satellite missile.
Can shoot down targets moving at 10km/sec at altitudes as high as 1200km.
Might also be capable of intercepting ICBM in the exo-atmosphere.
One missile system that I forgot:

SPYDER SAM system:
18 Spyder-MR systems were procured along with 750 Python-5 and 750 Derby missiles.
Spyder-MR has operational range of 35km and engagement altitude of 16km.
