I knew something wasn't okay with my son when he still a baby. He wasn't laughing or playing pick - a-boo. He laughed at his own thing and seem to be elsewhere #autism
At first I thought he was deaf because we would call out his name and he wouldn't respond. An audiologist checked his ears and they seem okay #autism
I kept telling his peadeatrician that something is up but he said we should wait till he is about three #autism
After his third birthday he starting writing and counting. It was wierd but he would take a pen and write numbers and alphabets #autism I knew then that something is not right
We took to a speech therapist because he was mum. He wasn't saying a word but he would write and the only speech he had was counting.
She recommended that we see a developmental neurologist and he confirmed that my son has #autism
Today we are okay. My little Neo is happy. We've developed a system of communication with him. He said a few words this past week and that is progress.
My son is now counting big numbers and like times tables. He writes big words and is learning phonetics. I'm not too invested in when he'll speak, it'll happen when it happens.
