For y’all that are still passing across the message that “China will use its loans to take over us”, China has announced that it is going to cancel the debts of relevant African countries in the form of interest-free government loans that are due to mature by the end of 2020!!!

According to the punch, China’s president, Xi Jinping, during the recent Extraordinary China-Africa Summit on Solidarity Against COVID-19 in Beijing, announced the plan to cancel to debts of Some African countries.

The president was quoted in the summit saying that China will work with the global community to give greater support to “those African countries that are hardest hit by the coronavirus and are under heavy financial stress”.

Although Nigeria is one of the African countries indebted to China, it’s not yet certain if we will be included in the debt cancellation.

The plan is to foster and promote the already established relationship between China and Africa. In the summit, President emphasized on the need for China and Africa to stay committed to fighting COVID-19 together, in other to enhance China-Africa cooperation...

...and take the China-Africa friendship forward.
All China has been doing is help. They sent a medical team to help us with the virus and provided the world with ways to fight it. They followed the ways and fought the virus.
