In the scene in @WonderWomanFilm btwn Ares & WW, Ares claims that because men are prone to corruption, Diana should join him in destroying them. He argues that they’re irredeemable & it strikes me as interesting that certain people are making the same claim about America today.
Now this is, of course, by definition false. But there are people who believe in it so much that they deny evidence to the contrary (see @jemelehill , nascar, the noose, and the destruction of monuments that clearly represent America’s greatness, not its flaws.)
And the very fact of said influencers undermines their entire claims. If America was irredeemable, why would it allow those who criticize it to have a platform? Why would the 1619 Project be praised? It wouldn’t.
Ares’s claim is compelling. As human beings we are prone to evil & to corruption. But WW’s claim is more true: despite this, we can actively choose to do good. And we should follow no one who claims otherwise. They are weak & small minded and do not understand our vast potential.
It is up to us to form a more perfect union, of the people, by the people, and for the people, that will not perish from the earth. The choice is ours. Will we falter or will we rise to the occasion? The choice is ours.

I pray we choose wisely. ✨
