Since #GabrielsInferno was published, I've been asked by readers who I envisioned as Gabriel and Julia.
And I told them.
And readers promptly replied, telling me I was wrong.
I found this amusing - that a reader could tell a writer that the persons in the writer's imagination were not in fact the true characters.
And then readers would tell me who the true Gabriel and Julia were ....
But now, years later, I've come to realize my readers were correct. As #GabrielsInfernoMovie has ably demonstrated, Giulio Berruti is Gabriel and Melanie Zanetti is Julia. They are, in fact, the true characters.
I was wrong.
