all these arts industry bosses talking about the "economic contribution" of the arts and the uk's "soft power". lads.

no one gives a shit. they never actually gave a shit about you demonstrating the "economic case". and your audiences? they *really* don't give a shit.
there is like zero public support for a rescue package for the arts, so we're not going to get one.

we did this. we built a "cultural sector" alienated from most people. and we blathered about the "economic case" instead of showing how funded art was central to folk's lives.
lol, you thought you were mates with the government? they hate you. they absolutely hate you.

you try to speak their language and they laugh, and by doing so you lost the audiences that matter.
ha ha ha my entire industry is fucked and the ten years i spent building a "career" have given me zero security whatsoever ha ha ha oh god all my friends...

managers, there's nothing left but fury and worker organisation. get on board or resign. give us your salary.
lol, an entire industry so gaslit into talking about "economic impact" that they've forgotten it was bullshit to start with.
they want to destroy the funded arts sector because they see it as an enemy in the culture war they're fighting to cement power.

& because destroying us will create space for gangster capitalism to profit.
