/ Today marks my 1 year anniversary at Twitter! It’s been a helluva year, for me, for Twitter, for the world. Here are some of the highlights of the past year. A thread...
/ I’m at Twitter at the right time in my career. The events of the past year have allowed me to lean on my life and career experiences in surprising ways. Whether it be influencing the way we work, our policies, or the app, I have to bring my whole self to Twitter everyday.
/ I’ve worked with amazing partners like @STEMDrMGD and @JamesLoduca to design a more inclusive and diverse design and research team. Today our team is one of the most diverse in the world. The management team is mostly women and mostly people of color and we are better for it.
/ Getting to this level of representation wasn’t easy. We did the work to build relationships and showed candidates how their diversity could be a super power at Twitter. We made dramatic changes on how we hire and promote. Today we are a stronger and higher performing team.
/ We’ve made a lot of progress on how we work as a team, and increasingly we are showing up as strong partners rather than a service org. More insights and strategy are fueled by @TwitterResearch and more opportunities to improve the platform are coming from @TwitterDesign.
/ This year has been one of growth for me. I’ve stretched and flexed in new ways, and I found my voice on Twitter. A year ago @leslieberland told me that I was going to change the company. Twitter has changed me in all the right ways.
/ I want to thank @jack for betting on me and trusting me. I’m your ride or die in this journey. Also thank you to my partners on staff. You’ve welcomed me with open arms. Proud to work along side you.
/ I’m determined to make my time at Twitter be the most impactful of my career and I believe that every day counts. I look forward to even brighter days as we fly higher, faster, stronger to make Twitter live up to its full potential.
