I am sympathetic to many of the concerns of BLM. Racism is real and continues to plague our society. Sin has individual and social manifestations. Police need to be held accountable for clear abuses of power. However, I have some concerns with how Christian's address these issues
We need to be aware of the ideological foundations of the language we use. I see so many who are (rightly) concerned with issues of justice who use language that is foundationally from a movement that is opposed to Christianity.
My fear is that the exact arguments/language used by many Christians on these issues is only feeding the arguments that the extreme left uses to shut down Christians in their approach to traditional approaches to gender/sexuality.
When the overriding language you use is only in view of the oppressor/oppressed opposition, rather than questions of truth, you've adopted Foucalt's methodology. Christians are always going to the seen as "oppressor" in this system.
In other words, if you use the ideology of the extreme left as your foundation to fight against racism, it's going to come back and bite you. You are still on the side of oppressor because you're a Christian.
