A lot of men get skewed views of sex & intimacy over time. I'm one of them. TMI warning: 5 years ago, after I fucked up my marriage I started going to a therapist who specialized in both anxiety & sexual health. Eventually I started to see what I'd done to others &myself.(1/3)
I'd still be going if not for Covid. And, man, it's awkward to talk about your sex issues. Really uncomfortable to admit it on twitter! But I came to see that I was really afraid of actual intimacy, so I replaced it with the "chase." Flirting, playing mind games, etc. (2/3)
Therapy led me to apologize to those who'd hear it. I think I'm a better hubby this time around. Not perfect. But working on it. I think I'm better at relationships w/ women. It's not cheap & it's uncomfy, but I think a lot of adult men would benefit from talking to a psych (3/3)
