(Thread) The current Hearthstone World Champion, @lxm1996, is female. The recent top competitive Hearthstone Battlegrounds performer, @Slysssa, is female.
There needs to be a concerted effort by this community to make competing a safe and welcome environment for ALL COMPETITORS.

Currently, the responsibility of creating a safe competitive environment for women in this game has rested on the shoulders of the women and a short list of allies. This should NOT be a permanent fixture.
The community as a whole should be responsible for making Hearthstone competitive events safe, regardless of whether they're LAN or online. I refuse to remain at a point where sexism, and the allowance of sexism, is seen as inevitable and goes largely unpunished.
Can we not hold each other more accountable than that? Lack of moderation, lack of disciplinary action, lack of accountability on behalf of the majority of the community from the top down needs to be addressed, and it's a perfect time to further that conversation.
I really hope I'm not alone in how I see this. We're capable of doing and being much better than we currently are.
