Been reading through the OT prophets lately, and some themes rise to surface in the realm of judgment. This is not super well thought out or exhaustive.

1) NO nation or political entity is exempt from judgment or safe from the consequences of their collective sin.
2) God’s people are judged, not only for idolatry and sexual immorality, but also for how they treat the poor, the widow, the immigrant - i.e. the vulnerable and under-privileged.

Has anyone catalogued and compare the frequency of these various infractions?
3) Finally, judgment is often warned of for several generations, but even when the ultimate judgment is delayed, each generation is responsible for its unique failures in a way that ties them to previous generations. No “sour grapes” excused allowed.
Pretty off-the-cuff TBH, needs some refining, maybe I’m way off, but would be interested to hear y’all thoughts.

Finally, GRACE has the final say throughout the prophets! LOVE that and NEED that! Praise God!
