Takehiko Inoue is a renowned author, Vagabond and Slam Dunk are masterpieces in their genres, but for me, there is one work that surpasses both, and that is REAL. This on-going manga is the pinnacle of his career and the work where he has put the maximum of his passion.

If anything characterizes Inoue beyond art, it's his ability to write characters that feel like real people. In REAL we have a trio of protagonists who stand out above any other aspect of the manga, they are the focus of this work.

The manga revolves around their relation with a sport that will surprise many, wheelchair basketball. This allows Inoue to not only get the most out of his characters emotionally when they are playing a game, but also when they are off the court.

Realism is a fundamental part of this work, everything is portrayed with great precision, especially the suffering of the characters. Hard moments in the lives of these people are shown, and the manga exceeds in conveying their pain.
