The New York Times/Siena College poll this morning tells a story of rejection of President Trump and that Joe Biden is the clear favorite this Fall.
This point seems to be key. Biden has improved 29 points on the margin over Clinton among white women with college degrees. This is a remarkable and sudden change.
. @RonBrownstein has referred to the current Trump/GOP as the coalition of restoration. Young people aren't part of this coalition. And it's hurting Republicans deeply.
And it sure seems like Biden's bland personality, his image as generic Democrat who is broadly acceptable, is helping him this year.
Political scientists have a concept called valence issues. These are issues on which everyone agrees and are broadly shared. These are usually not cutting issues because everyone agrees with them.

I don't think I've ever seen "being nice" as a valence issue.
Also notable to me in the Times/Siena poll: Biden is romping despite not having the advantage in older voters seen in previous polls.

Trump and Biden are essentially tied in voters over 50. It's younger voters who are rejecting Trump.
