" youre a madrasah student, how can you- _ why did you-"
see now, i understand the frustration of this, like we are humans too, but also understand WHY these mindsets have come into daily conversations and are accepted.
we are all Muslims / humans hence our actions must ALL be of goodness, right? its just that we are more expected to be of better because we are surrounded by a better environment. we have islamic links to nearly every thing we do, for example :
a boy is smoking, thats wrong.
a boy from madrasah is smoking, HUGE CASE, PICTURES ONLINE, TWEETS, POSTS.
right? frustrating right?
but think of it this way, we are seen as people who
have better knowledge of our religion.
and with more knowledge, comes more responsibility.
my mom said to me, " imagine someone is bleeding, and a passerby stops and helps, but then messes up, its because he knows he NEEDS to help, but just not ENOUGH to do it the righr way. next, a doctor stops and also messes up, people get angry, why? because he is supposed to
KNOW BETTER , to KNOW ENOUGH, to help and to do it right. what if someone sees a doctor doing the wrong things, and does it to someone else? because a doctor is EXPECTED to have knowledge, people look at doctors and think, ah these people have good MEDICAL knowledge.
same as for you and your friends, people look at you and they think, : oh people of islamic knowledge, although sometimes unfair, doesnt it make you want to know more? to be what society has labeled you but better? "
in no way am i saying that these mindsets are right,
or should be accepted, only that lately alot of people have been angered about this madrasah expectations issue.
to me , we can look at everything in a more postitive way, instead of a bad way.
sometimes people assume the worst of ALL OF US because of seeing ONE of us do something bad.
so we should ALL work on upholding our reputations and our religion. we can all be better muslims and better students, together. bil kheir.
