Lots of interesting stats in a new @ONS article on travel to work in a #Covid19UK context published today

Most striking fact for me:
For travel to work journeys of less than 2km (which takes around 20 minutes to walk), 42% were by foot, but 45% were by car.
For journeys between 2-5km (a 45 mins walk or 15 min cycle), 67% are by car and only 5% by bike.

While the above stat is for pre- #Covid19UK, we can expect some shorter journeys by public transport will now switch to walking and cycling, but will drivers continue driving?
Continued working from home where possible will be important to manage demand
