The founder of RSS Shri Keshav Baliram Hedgewar was a born patriot and first class revolutionary not only this, at the time of the First World War in 1915, India was the chief among the military cantonments of the whole India in the plan of revolution.
At this time, the stage of freedom movement was the Congress, in which he played a major role and participated in the Satyagrahas of 1921 and 1930 and received imprisonment.
The atmosphere of the Sangh branches was patriotic! The famous revolutionary Rajguru became a volunteer while studying at Bhonsle Vedshala in Nagpur in 1926-1927, when he reached Nagpur and nearby and at this time Bhagat Singh ji met Dr. Hedgewar in Nagpur.

After killing Saunders in December 1928 and avenging Lala Lajpat Rai ji, he came to Lahore safely. At the same time, after meeting Hedgewar ji, Rajguru was arranged to hide at Bhaiyaji Dhani's farm house.

Satyaagrah :-
In the Satyagraha, Dr. Hedgewar's batch had Appa Joshi and Dadarao Parmath etc. and the Chief of Civil Education Mr. Martand Rao Jog, District Sanghchalak Shri Appaji Halde of Nagpur made several activists and a team of 100 Savymsevak of the Shakhas
whose members were present during the Satyagraha. On August 8, many Savyamsevak were injured by breaking the procession by breaking section 144 in Garhwal Day.
In 1931, Dr. Hedgewar was in jail at the time of Vijayadashami, in his absence a message was read on the branches of the Sangh in the village, which said
"देश की परतन्त्रता नष्ट होकर जब तक सारा समाज बलशाली और आत्मनिर्भर नही होता तब तक रे मना! मुझे निजी सुख की अभिलाषा का अधिकार नही "
In January 1932, Veer Bagha Jatin (revolutionary Jatinder Nath) along with his comrades were martyred in the Balaghat scandal by the Viplavi Party for looting the state treasury, and many revolutionary prisoners including Shri Bala Ji Hoodar were imprisoned.
Shri Huddar was also the Sahkaryavaah of the Sangh at that time.
