AND, it looks like @Mimirocah1 is going to be my new District Attorney!!
This is the race I cared most about tonight because... well, I'm a guy who cares about police brutality and I know that you can't do anything about the cops until you elect better DAs. https://twitter.com/BlkWestchesterM/status/1275672814243254278

I'm also happy because @Mimirocah1 and @JamaalBowmanNY were the first candidates I've ever publicly "endorsed" in a town where I live and, if she had lost, being a limited-purpose public person on the *wrong* side of my local prosecutor was NOT something I was looking forward to.
When I first moved up here, I was driving home from the Metro-North and cops tailed me all the way home. I got to my driveway and they stopped in front of my house. They asked me "Do you live here?"
I, calmly and affably, said "yes. With three other people who look just like me."
I, calmly and affably, said "yes. With three other people who look just like me."
They said they just "like to know" the new people in the neighborhood. I did not quote law back at them. I choked down indignation. I just smiled, swallowed hard, and *thanked* them. They said "And thank you for... understanding."
SO... I'm kind of KEENLY AWARE of local law enforcement. Their power. My... powerlessness.
The votes me (and my whole black-ass family) cast in this DA's race.... that's our power. That's what we could *do* about it. DA is the only "law enforcement" we get to vote on.
