#GetSplitOffNetflix Part of the thing about it to me as well is that Split isn't 100% incorrect - at least if you looked at the information it provides about DID. It does state things that are true and does state things that are horrifically wrong, but they put little to no

effort or initiative to divide fact from fiction. I would still hate it if it committed to being poorly based on DID and 100% accurate, but at least in that maybe there would be less confusion of what parts of what it is presenting is real and what is not.

The movie attempts to explain DID in a scientific manner and does discuss aspects of DID that are currently being researched and some current theories and ideas that surround it; however while doing so, it mixes in horrific stigma between it.

It makes real information on DID look like fiction, and some fictional aspects from the movie look like real information. Sure it is "just fiction" or "just a movie" but I would also like someone who hasn't researched DID to make a 100% accurate divide between

the true information the movie provides from the false information the movie provides.

Also I do not mean to say Split has MUCH true / good information; at best I feel it has "technically true" or "kind of true" information in the "science bits" but *shrugs*

Also there is the whole discussion of availability heuristics and how most people aren't exposed to any real information on DID other than media so even if someone recognizes it is fiction, when interacting with someone who claims to have DID - if the only thing

their mind has readily available about DID is Split or some other stigmatizing movie about it, then no matter what, at least to some level, their actions and thoughts about the person and the situation will be negatively skewed by their experience it. #GetSplitOffNetflix
