this is why i am begging you if u r a minor, ur main friend groups should be w/ other minors. it's ok if ur part of a mixed server (ex. a 16+ server) and/or ur friends with adults, but ur close friend circle should be w/ ppl ur age, & adults' circles should be ppl their age
some red flags:
- the server FIXATES on the fact that it is a "safe space" for minors to a disturbing degree
- the adults act even mildly weird towards the minors and/or constantly try to DM them
- the adults make nsfw comments to minors YES THIS INCLUDES JOKES

- the age requirement is SUSPICIOUSLY low esp in comparison to the mods' ages (like a 13+ server and the mods are over 25)
- THERE ARE MORE THAN 2-3 NSFW CHANNELS (depends on server size BUT STILL...)
- they let people into said NSFW the MINUTE they turn 18 (THIS IS GROOMING)

- minors are repeatedly infantalized and/or their age is made a topic way too often (ex. people constantly calling you a baby, uwu smol, weird predator behaviour with the adults calling you their kids/calling themselves your parents w/o consent, "you're mature for ur age")
when you notice these red flags, call that shit out. the way the adult in question will react will DEFINITELY show their true colours. if they're decent, they will be understanding in a way that isn't guilt trippy

- focus on YOUR feelings and not their own
- in the future, they don't exhibit this behaviour again
then those are good signs. of course, an adult can be good at pretending to be ok-

-so if you still get red flags, BLOCK THEM. there's no reason why an adult would be hard-pressed on a minor blocking them, even if it's out of the blue.

in general, i try my best to make sure my convos with minors are in open, easy-to-track places. for example: a server, or the twitter TL. i make sure my twitter is not 18+ if i'm mutuals with minors/if minors are following when it's a public account
i almost NEVER dm minors or leave them in places where they are isolated and vulnerable. and minors, if you notice an adult is cutting you off from your friends / isolating you in this way, be wary. isolation in general is a tactic often used by abusers
uhhh idk what else to add on, these are the red flags i've gotten and these are my experiences having been a minor in these spaces + a minor who was mainly "friends" with adults who all turned out to be kinda creepy towards me. it's always best to exercise caution, and stay safe!
