Thinking about the colonizers who stole from Indigenous peoples and don't provide the specifics of who and where they stole it from.

Now there are Indigenous artifacts in museums and archives catalogued with minimal information. Of course, the museums will put up a fight...
...if Indigenous peoples try to claim it.

(you have to have an extremely expensive building to take care of the artifacts. while Indigenous peoples are trying to provide housing and clean tap water with what little they have.)
The least museums can do while they benefit from Indigenous genocide in the "new world" is to help Indigenous peoples (financially in particular) establish they're own repositories for their artifacts. Teach Indigenous people how to preserve their Ancestors masterpieces.
I'm in a ranting mood. Please ask questions if you need more clarification!
I'm a bit peeved right now due to the state of my University's (UNBC) First Nations Studies and Anthropology program due to the amount of Indigenous traumas that are utilized in order to prove Indigenous sovereignty.
Also, I found out our First Nations Study 100 class is absolute trash. They are extremely unprofessional and it leaves a bad name for the integrity of the First Nations Studies program.
I would love to take an Indigenous Studies program that follows Mohawk activist Richard Oakes and Lakota anthropologist Dr. Beatrice Medicine philosophies. Indigenous studies that are made for Indigenous peoples. Where we can get accredited for our Indigenous knowledge...
...and hire Indigenous Elders (Indigenous knowledge holders).

It is extremely difficult for myself to take First Nations (Indigenous) studies due to the amount of triggering knowledge being utilized. I want to learn about my slowly dying language that my Ancestors spoke for...
...thousands of years. I want to learn about the technology that my Ancestors have invented. I want to learn about the beautiful art that my Ancestors made.

I know enough about residential schools, the pass system, the 60's scoop, and how my Ancestors were traumatized...
...because I (a queer Indigenous youth) have experience it all of the time.

There needs to be major changes around the way First Nations/Indigenous studies are conducted in every level of the education systems throughout the "new world"
