feel free to correct or disagree with me but these are just some of the issues i’ve noticed

1: none of the women of colour on the show get anywhere near the amount of fleshing out as the white women. part of this is because the only properly fleshed out woman on the show is beckett and all the other female characters are neglected but still

2: the woc on the show get reduced to stereotypes
i love lanie but she’s your classic Sassy Black Gurrrlfriend; gates is a hardass Angry Black Woman who’s Mean and Unfair (but when you look past caskett’s bias, she’s totally right! why was castle allowed to do any of that shit)

3: (also i am thinking about how gates i like. the only woman not to have any kind of implied sex life....and she’s also the only one who’s frigid and pissed and Unfair To Our Dashing Mr Castle...i’m not saying the misogyny overlaps but like. the misogyny overlaps)

4: roy montgomery as the Noble Black Man who rose above the Bad Shit of his past, Makes Something Of Himself, and then pulls the sacrifice play to save the white leads...roy sweetie i’m so sorry they did u like that when u were talking abt retirement with ur lovely wife...,,

5: the fucking DISRESPECT to pjj when she was informed that gates wouldn’t be returning & beckett made captain OUT OF NOWHERE!
her tweet about it broke my heart she didn’t deserve to be cast aside like that. fandom also rioted over stana after s8 but tamala was largely forgotten

6: idk if this belongs fully in this thread but i will be forever mad that esposito got hardly anything....like we had den of thieves and the INCREDIBLE bits in kill shot but we deserved more!! ryan got the wild rover but den of thieves was too preoccupied with demming i guess
