Don’t have an address? If you’re experiencing homelessness or housing instability, you can still fill out the Census. It’s important to be counted so money for housing and homelessness services will reach your community. This chain will tell you how to do it.

(2) If there’s someplace you stay frequently (with friends or family, or at a shelter) ask to be included on their Census form. If they have already done their Census, you can submit another form using their address.
(3) If there’s not a place you stay frequently, or if the place you stay doesn’t have a mailing address, you can fill out the Census clicking “If you do not have a Census ID Click Here.”
(4) Enter state/territory where you live. On the next page click “I do not have a street address.” Click “No” for Rural Route address. On the next page, click yes for “Were you experiencing homelessness on April 1, 2020?”
(5) On the next page, there is a text box where you can describe the place you were staying, like a park, intersection, or shelter. The rest of the pages ask you demographic questions about you and the people you stay with.
