I already knew that AJ Dillon was a king shit running back prospect when I saw his #veryhigh marks in skeleton key metrics like Dominator Rating and Speed Score, but then I remembered that Derrick Henry is also big and fast, and my convictions were strengthened
To add to that, he was selected in the second round (!!!) by a team with a coach who has mis/underutilized both Derrick Henry *and* Aaron Jones in just the last two seasons! What a slam dunk!
Even better, Packers GM Brian Gutekunst, a seasoned executive with a long list of impeccable credentials as both an evaluator and team builder, said that Dillon, a player with 21 career receptions, had an ability to catch the ball out of the backfield that was “attractive to us.”
I trust him too, as AJ Dillon’s low receptions totals are skewed by Boston College’s run heavy offense. Dillon’s 33rd-percentile Target Share mark of 5.9% is much more illustrative of his underrated and truly dynamic ability in the passing game.
And, in this day and age of #RBsDontMatter, you want guys who don’t need to be given the benefit of the doubt despite being hamstrung by a poor situation. That’s Dillon.
As a Bowser back on a team with an anemic passing attack and while facing the most 8-man fronts in all of college football, AJ Dillon cranked out 5.3 yards per carry, almost half a yard less than his backup and good for the 40th percentile overall.

If any RB matters, it’s him.
