Slave owners were paid $300 for every slave they had to free the 2019 equivalent to that is $9000 per slave. I want you to think of how much of a head start that was for so many white families think of how much land and building costs were back then.
In 1862 when the gov started selling land the price was $1 per acre. The wealth that’s been established off the work, sale and then “freeing” of black people is bullshit. And the people who were actually held as slaves got NOTHING. That’s sick.

Anyways white friends this is what we mean by white privilege. Nobody is accusing you of the acts of your ancestors, you weren’t around and a lot of you don’t agree with them BUT you benefit.

Also I’m not arguing facts with anyone under this thread. The “I’m from France how did I benefit” tweets are dumb. White supremacy positively effects ALL white people to this day. I’m not a descendant of American slaves but I want reparations for my people because it will
positively impact my community as a whole and make a better life for my children and theirs. It’s not hard to figure out how group economics work friends. Go read a fucking book and stop trying to be argumentative.
