Ok guys now I’ll share my thoughts on One piece 983 if you don’t wanna be spoiled don’t read this thread. Simple as that

So, I give the chapter about a 6/10. I enjoyed the entirety of the luffy v ulti section. I thought it was an entertaining fight with a good twist having yamato show up at the end. My issues are with 3 things in the chapter. Perospero, sanji, usopp chopper/big mom

So, my issue with pero is the fact that the Bm pirates were so incompetent that they couldn’t get over the water fall, but pero this whole time had a fucking candy slug he could whip out and get to onigashima! Why tf would he not mention this at all or have done this any sooner?!

If you wanna say he didn’t want to tell the other Bm pirates I ask you why did he wait until weeks later to use this slug?!!! Why didn’t he get into wano sooner when he had the means to?!! It’s just really dumb and lazy on oda’s part. Ok now onto sanji. His gag shit

Is getting old and making him unlikeable and shows the straw hats aren’t taking this seriously. Why is he Dicking around with prostitutes when they about to be at war with two yonko?!!!! Now you may say this is the same as in Enies lobby when he wouldn’t fight kalifa. It is not

When he wouldn’t strike kalifa he did so out of a moral code that was beaten into him as a child. Here he stays with prostitutes because oh he’s a pervert how funny. He’s endangering the crew because he’s horny that is just retarded oda. This is apart of a greater issue

That the straw hats aren’t taking the situation seriously, there is no tension . The main characters don’t give a fuck about two yonko and therefore I the reade have no reason to either. Ok now to chopper usopp and big mom. Last chapter was dumb enough with them

Doing a gag where Bm for some dumb reason doesn’t kill usopp and chopper when she easily could it makes no sense for them to outpace and stay safe from here in a tiny tank. Plus an encounter with a yonko is just being played up for laughs. So in this chapter they had that gag but

Made it a serious plot point where they actually escaped from Bm and helped the others by leading Bm away. Bm not only looks more incompetent, but just so dumb it makes me wonder how she ever became a yonko. This goes into another issue I have where the yonko have

To be dumbed down for the straw hats to beat them. Why can’t the protagonists be competent and also be taken down? Remember croc? That man was highly competent and he was still overcome. He didn’t have to be dumbed down for the shs to win

Again I really enjoyed the later section of this chapter, the luffy v ulti fight had some good choreography and it was just a pleasure to read. Yamato’s reveal was genuinely shocking and well done.Overall tho the chap wasn’t great in my opinion. 6/10 from me.
