Say what you will about The Voice Actor but this post is weird? It's AM officially announcing that they have INVITED The Voice Actor but not that a DEAL has been arranged. I'm thinking The VA is holding out, trying to see what the situation with COVID will be closer to the con.
Say what you will about The VA, he's 57, his voice is his money maker, and COVID is a *respiratory* disease. Being at the front of a line where people want to shake his hand, hug him, and have him sign personal items they have touched? While Texas hits record infection numbers?
So I wonder if The VA is holding out, because if he announces and backs out, it's far worse than if he doesn't announce at all or decides to go much closer to the date. Hell, half that Con's announced guests are from JAPAN, $100 says they will NOT be going to Texas in August.
I imagine any con like that now HAS to run. They can't get OUT of their contracts, the state is open, but it'd only take a 15-20% loss of attendance to put any con into the red. Meanwhile guests are backing out for safety reasons as they are the most LIKELY to get infected.
So you have COVID scaring off enough attendees to be a financial thread and guests, a major attraction for attendees, slowly going 'Eeeh maybe next year?'.

Is this AM putting public pressure on The VA to announce? It's really weird.
Frankly, if there were not COVID concerns, unless there's some secret falling out no one knows about, I can't imagine The VA not going to AM.
Also weird: People on Twitter going 'WE DID IT THE VA WILL BE AT AM!'

There's nothing about the invitation being ACCEPTED yet... You might wanna wait to celebrate until you see that the invitation has been ACCEPTED.
