I have numbered the Chinese Red Guard members with the #'s 1-4.
A big part of Marxist street theater for the masses is what I call "power posture posing", and these 4 Red Guard ladies are prime examples of it.

Power posture posing is how a committed activist projects confidence, control and domination over large groups. It is a psychological exercise.
Since the Marxists actually don't start out with popular support, they have to "fake it until they make it".

Another thing that makes this picture perfect to explain the Marxist use of power posture posing is the very large crowd in the background, all sitting, cowed and motionless, their attention completely fixed on the tiny group of 4 posing women in front of them.
Marxist revolutionaries need special training in psychologically intimidating and influencing far larger groups of people around them because...

This is why you see Red Guard ladies #1 and #3 in a "arms flexed", combative stance very similar to a martial arts fighting stance, a fist held horizontally in front.
