there's a narrative in our bonkers media/social media ecosystem that conservatives don't believe in Covid-19, but i think only ~6k people showing up to a Trump rally in a deeply-red state should probably make us reconsider that.
the "Silent Majority" is the conservative Americans who aren't on Twitter or making angry TikTok videos outside Costco who are staying home as much a they can because they are afraid of the killer virus.
the psychopaths who run the social media buys and disinformation machines funded by crazy conservative billionaires have done a good job convincing the MSM and GOP politicians that Covid-19 is some kind of culture war, but maybe it isn't.
(and i say this as someone with a lot of conservative family members who, as far as i can tell, are taking it very seriously.)
