Tom Billson, my dad, in the Mastermind chair, 1988. His specialist subject was "The life and career of Woody Herman".
My dad was a scorer for Surrey CCC (he's on the right in the back row; not sure which of the teams this is). I always got taken to loads of cricket matches; once he arranged for special dispensation from my headmistress so I could take the day off schol to go & see a test match.
My dad with the Duke of Edinburgh. Not sure what this was about. He was NOT a Royalist.
My dad with a poppy & his medals, so I'm guessing this would have been a Dunkirk Veterans event. He saw action in North Africa & Italy as well as at Dunkirk. I can say with complete confidence he would have been vehemently anti-Brexit. My mum too. They would have been appalled.
One last Father's Day tweet. The Billson family in 1959. I'm the littlest one. In the 1960s my dad took me to films by Jacques Tati, Réné Clair & Julien Duvivier & bought me NFT membership for my birthday, so he's got a lot to answer for.
