Convenience runs the Internet.

Almost all Internet success stories have made it more convenient to do something.

Once you see it, you can't unsee it.

THREAD...
1/ FACEBOOK

Why is Facebook successful? Because they cover the human desire to connect with other people.

Why is Facebook worth $680B? Because they make that connection so convenient that you can do it from your couch.
2/ GOOGLE

When a question occurs, Google is conveniently there.

Google famously prioritized speed. Speed makes it convenient to search, which means you’re more likely to search.

Also: Google Sign-In, Google Trends, Google Maps.
3/ AMAZON

This one doesn't need much explanation.

Search, click, pay and shortly afterwards a package arrives at your door.

Amazon is the master of speed and convenience and that's why Jeff Bezos is the richest man in the world.
4/ APPLE

The most common thing I hear people say when they speak about Apple is how they can never go back to anything else. Why?

Apple is simple, easy and convenient to use. You don't have to think, and their products are FAST.
5/ Apple realise the importance of convenience so much, that they licensed that 1-Click patent from Amazon, so they could put it in iTunes, so you wouldn't have to take another step to buy a song.
6/ UBER

No car? No problem
Too young to drive? No problem
No parking space? No problem

Uber makes it convenient to move around, no matter who you are.

8/ Email newsletters

People make money from newsletters. Why?

Quality information delivered to your inbox, without you having to search or think about it, is convenient. It's worth paying for.

9/ Online Communities

People pay to join online communities. Why?

Because communities make it convenient to connect with like-minded people. Those people are already on the Internet, but a community makes them easier to find.

END/ People pay for convenience.

It's why you pay for same-day delivery, pay to have music available at the click of a button, and pay for your own private chauffeur.

It also why people will give you money if you can help them think less by making something more convenient.
