One thing to remember is that your work place might appear to be heaven to you but toxic to other people. The most toxic workplaces I've come across alway have vocal defenders. That's because the people defending the places have a completely different experience. 1/5
Very few workplaces are universally toxic and survive. Usually there will be an in-group and an out-group. The in-group doesn't experience anything until they do something which moves them to the out-group. 2/5
One frequent way to do that, is for men to ask for child leave. I cannot count the number of men whobhave told me they faced vitriol and disgust when doing that. Most such men gain a much different view of the organisation afterwards. 3/5
Dye to the dynamics of our society, the in-group is usually cis heterosexual white men, but it can also include other groups. It certainly never excludes cis heterosexual white men as a whole. 4/5
If you work in a place where you can only retain people of a certain type, try to consider whether there might be a toxicity problem which is invisible to you 5/5
