A father is the initiator or source.Fathers have the responsibility not only to start & provide the future generation,but also to give that generation an identity. Fathers carry the seed.

Leader.Many men love to say, "I'm the head of this house,"but forget the accountability & duty of being the head.Fathers have the responsibility to preserve,protect,nourish &guide his family. Leading does not superior than the woman,it means first responsibility & accountability.

The father, if he is truly the head, becomes the visionary of the family. Fathers anticipates things before they happen & equips the family to face the future. Real fathers have perception,conception, insight,long-range goals & a plan for the future

If the man claims to be the father & head of the home, then he must have the knowledge & wisdom to lead the family. Fathers have the responsibility to calculate where the family is going & seek God's guidance to make long-term plans -10,15 or 20yrs for the family.

Many fathers think they are too busy to listen to their families. Yet listening is a gift that fathers give to their families. Their listening tells their families that they care for them, while failure to listen communicates a lack of love & caring.

The father is called to develop the family. He develops by building his family's strength & focusing on what they can do well instead of condemning their weaknesses.He covers not exposes their vulnerability, real fathers bear the weaknesses of his family.

Protector. Fathers have the responsibility to protect,just like a farmer who develops a crop uses whatever means of protection his crop needs to guard against insects,diseases and vandals. He tends the crop by pulling weeds and providing adequate irrigation.
Lastly, Where purpose is not known. Abuse is inevitable. Fathers who do not know their purpose abuse their families & rape their own children. Real fathers don't abuse women & children. They use their strength to protect.
