I’m so tired of people saying that we should just “tax corporations” to pay for transit. It’s not that easy. SF is a city and a county so they can do more progressive revenue measure w/o enabling legislation. We are not, so we can’t.
And even if we got enabling legislation, it would still cost about $1m to run the campaign, and the measure would need a 2/3 majority to pass on Election Day.
There are other ways to generate revenue for transit. Most agencies are not using their assets/land in a strategic way. This is what we should be focusing on.
